How MissingsWorld works

Four steps, one goal: getting belongings back to the people who lost them.

1. Report it

Create a lost or found report with category, colour, brand, date, area and unique features. Distinctive details are what make a match possible later.

2. A human reviews it

Every submission is checked by an administrator before it becomes publicly searchable. Reports that expose personal data or look unsafe are rejected with a reason.

3. Listings get matched

Approved lost and found listings are compared on category, wording overlap, area and date range. Matches are always suggestions for humans to confirm — never automatic decisions.

4. Verify and reunite

Send a contact request through the listing, verify ownership with the detail the finder held back, meet in a busy public place, then mark the item reunited.

What a reunion looks like

Once both sides confirm, the listing is marked reunited and can carry a short reunion note. Those stories are the point of the whole platform.
